Is there a specific name for the part of a gate door that slides open for the people inside to see?
Like a peephole..
but the size of the mail slot.
The thing usually slammed open by someone about to shout “What’s the Password!”
Is there a specific word for that? Like a word they used for it in the medieval era or the past..because peephole sounds pretty modern.
i had no idea where to put this question so i put it in home and garden..
I think its called a “slide”. but it may depend on where you are from also.
