Why do Dutch people eat meat products (animals)?
I am not saying the rest of the world does this….except for the 1% Vegetarians and .1% Vegans….who deem it immoral to exploit animals….
but the Netherlands is very environmentally conscious. They use windmills and bicycles, they are clean, they are good at recycling…..
so why aren’t more Dutch people opposed to slaughtering cows and chickens and elk and pigs and sheep to make steak, chicken, pork, and lamb?
My vegan friend is angry at me for eating smoked salmon the other day
and my justification is that if the Dutch people, who are so environmentally advanced, can eat meat, and these people are not followers as they fought very hard in WWII to resist Nazi occupation of the Netherlands as soldiers of orange. If they can eat meat, there’s some moral justification for why you are not a bad person to eat meat….
or are you? And if so, why do Dutch people eat meat?
Most “environmentally friendly” things are easy once you get used to them. Vegetarianism and veganism are quite bothersome. After all, most people do like the taste of meat, and you have to watch your diet more carefully if you remove meat from it.
The meat industry is also quite prevalent in the Netherlands, historically.
