What would be the best home security gun for my wife?
Could be from a handgun (most probably a handgun) to a shotgun. It will be for when Im not around and she has something to protect herself in the event. It must have the power to drop a thief in one round but no so much recoil she knocks herself on her ass an hurts herself.
.38 is bare minimum for self defense and that may not drop an intruder in one round. A compact .45 or .40 and practice, practice, practice. A 12G would be the best thing. With practice a small female can handle any size weapon.
