what do i need to record cctv in one place whilst watching 5 miles away?
having problems with vandals trashing the place whilst our business is closed-can i set up a cctv system at work that is motion activated to alert me at home so i can watch whats happening and call the cops?any products and where i can get thewm would be much appreciated-thankyou
well… you can plug a webcam into your PC, and then linkk to your PC at home… but, unless you pay lots the image is crap… you need at least 480×650 or better.
and all that will do is identify the culprits.. provided they arent wearing hoodies…
im not toutiing for work, but i specialise in good old fashioned iron bar security systems… and they dont make the place look like a fortrress… but it is, coz once its been locked, your advised NOt to lose the keys…
i did our community centre 4 yrs ago, and its on a dead end council estate in coventry..and no one has even bothered… even the insurace assessor commented on how good it was… and it cost the equivalent of two or three callouts for broken windows…
got to any local steel fabricators, theyll knowck em up for aaround 200 quid a window, i use perforated steel mesh..it passes 75% light and is glavanised so it’ll never rust.. go check it out… yes its going to cost a few quid..but how much are teh vandals costing you at the moment?
electronic gizmos will always break at the most inopportune moment.. nothing gets past cold hard ironwork. at the end of th eday, between your fancy alarms going off and plod arriving it can be upto 20 minutes..by which time youve lost the lot and criminal johnny is long gone… iron bars slow anyone down… especially if you know how to build them, and the crooks arent professionals…if they are nothing short of an act of god could stiop them anyway..
