Just as we’ve taken the experience to your home, now we can combine the race track and the gaming seat into 1! Curious?
Consider this, in Formula1 racing (and lots of other competitive racing) the vehicles are fitted with precision telemetry devices, so that their speed, direction and actual location etc can be monitored with absolute precision. The racing telemetry details, ie. the speed and direction and all that stuff, can be accessed by your home computer so a real life simulation is possible!
This is why we have products from the likes of VisionRacer, Fanatec and peripherals from the likes of Logitech. The evolution to this is that we integrate our gaming experience at home, in real life racing, specifically some clever software that integrates the ‘real life’ telemetry data into a gaming environment. From your own living room you can race againt Formula 1 drivers (well from your gaming seat!) – at home.You’ll be able to compete against professionals in real-time, as you will be in the actual event.
So what’s the scoop? IOpenermedia is a relatively new company with some real creative thinking, and they are trialling right now.
The company is called iOpener and their technology allows you to race 1-on-1 with professionals in real time, on real circuits and at live events. Just imagine if it was possible to take part in a live GT racing event? You can actually now play and participate! The software from iOpener will no doubt work in other applications too, such as flight simulators and other commerical solutions. Watch this space – we’ll keep you posted.
