Security System: Magnetic Door Contacts – How to wire properly?
I have recessed magnetic contacts. They are very small, and they have appx 1 ft wire off the contact side. This wire would splice into the 22/2 and run all the way to the alarm panel. What’s the best way to make this connection in the wall between the wire off the contact and to my long run wire? I know it’s no voltage so it shouldn’t matter if I just wire nut them inside the wall, but I want to make it look professional, so what does everyone else do in this situation?
most people use wire nuts or T-Taps, if you are worried about burying them in the wall use butt splices, as they are not going to come loose—ever.
