Dell P1500 – The Efficient Home Office Printer
Dell, the prolific computer and laptop manufacturer, has developed printers that are equally user friendly and efficient. The Dell P1500 printer and Dell P1500 printer toner cartridge is a case in point and it lives up to Dell’s reputation of a quality conscious and customer friendly organization.
To begin with it, it should not take anyone more than five minutes to plug in the machine and set it up. USB ports and parallel ports help you connect the device to the computer, however the USB is recommended for speed and ease of use. This device works with Windows 98 and later versions of the Windows OS and is not compatible with Mac OS. The Dell P1500 printer generates black and white outputs with resolution of 600 x 600 dpi.
The input paper tray supports various kinds of material starting from A4 papers to envelopes and transparencies and can hold up to 150 pages. If someone requires heavy duty printing jobs be done, Dell sells an extra input tray that can store 250 pages. For personal and small business usages the product is very efficient. At an output rate of 14.7 pages per minute, the Dell P1500 printer is at least 25% ahead of the nearest competitor in the same class. Priced sensibly, it is very reasonable when compared with other products in the same category.
The printer weighs a measly 20 lbs and with dimensions as compact as 14 x 15 x 9 inches, the form factor is well taken care of. Dell technical support is readily available and an extra 48-month warranty can be bought for extra protection.
The Dell P1500 printer is equipped with 16 MB RAM that can be enhanced up to 64 MB and is also equipped with a 200 MHz processor. The printer driver enables the customer to configure different print parameters as well as set various functions including font, watermark and overlay. The amount of ink used can also be rationed by selecting from 10 different user defined settings that control the darkness of the output. Negative and Smoothing effects enhance the graphics outputs. The printer offers three print modes: booklet, poster and normal.
The printer has two control buttons conveniently fitted on top in addition to 5 LED’s that indicate readiness, status of Dell P1500 toner, status of paper-tray, paper jams, and errors. The LED’s are a welcome addition as they can pre-empt any down time and thus save time and money. The input and the output trays are fitted on the top portion for less space consumption. The front panel is equipped with a manual page loader. The product comes with an exhaustive product manual of 80 pages covering all the relevant details regarding the product.
The printer is compatible with both the 3K as well as the 6K cartridges, which are priced at $99 and $149 respectively. To save money one may opt for the recyclable cartridges that are to be returned back to Dell and they cost $75 and $115 respectively for the 3kK and 6K variants.
The product is fitted with attractive features and very innovative designs to provide best in class efficiency and value for money. That there is no LCD display may be a sore point; however, with features such as ease of installation, speed and cost efficiency, the product is sure to make the customers happy.
