how does car alarm shock sensor work?
I recently installed a viper 350 car alarm system in my car(Geek Squad Best Buy) Im wondering how the shock sensor works. I tried hitting my car and shaking it but i dont hear beeps or see lights flashing or nething. Do you think they didnt install the shock sensor?
The reason i bought the viper alarm is to protect the car but i dont wanna wait for the car to be opened or a window to break for the alarm to go off. HItting the car and stuff like that should scare theifs away.
According to the first link below, your system should have the Stinger DoubleGuard shock sensor.
If that is the case, it seems like the moves you made should have triggered it.
The second link below is to just the Stinger Double Guard. If you read the reviews there, one person added it to their Viper 350, so that raises some question in my mind as to what exactly was included in your system.
You will also note in the second link that one reviewer mentions he had to adjust the sensitivity to his liking.
This may be the case for you as well. If you can’t immediately find the sensor based on looking at the pics and looking the the obvious places (trunk, under dash on drivers side) then I suggest you go back to geeks and have them show you where it is and what it takes to trigger it. That way if you want it to be more sensitive you can have them do it right then.
