Switching the AC power adapter of the Wii (From 110v to 240v one)?
Hello everyone
I wanted to ask if it is possible to use a Wii bought from a 110v country and using it in a 240v country by switching the main adapter supply.
The power adapter is external so I guess it is as easy as buying a local Nintendo Wii 240v power adapter and using that with the Wii instead of the original one. But the question is, does it work?
I know that plugging in the 110v adapter into the local 240v socket will fry the console but does simply changing the external power supply do? Or does the console itself also require a specific voltage to go with its region?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I live in Singapore, We used 240V. I use a 500 watt transformer to step down the voltage to 110V to supply to my Wii set from USA. That is it, you don’t need anything else. A low watt transformer may burn, as it may not support the watt Wii consumes.
