What are the warning signs of an abusive man?
I want to get married but I don’t want an abusive man to marry(whether verbally, sexually or physically or emotionally)
I am on two reputable dating sites and what are some warning signs to look out for while getting to know this person online to make sure he’s not the abusive type?
On my profile I made it especially clear that I want a man that respects women.
The most prominent indicator of that is if he was abused as a child. Find an adult victim of child abuse, ask them about it and they’ll tell you that what their parents did was wrong and that’s not how people should treat other people.
They’re not lying when they say that, but if you grow up the constant presence of something, (no matter HOW terrible it is) deep down you acknowledge it as ordinary, whether you want to or not.
People who were not loved as a child often grow up not knowing HOW to love another person. As if that alone wasn’t sad enough, they did nothing to deserve it, it’s not their fault, but that’s just what that kind of treatment does to people. They never had a chance.
